Digital transformation may be the most discussed topic among business leaders within small and midsize business – but is investing in such advanced technology worth the time, cost, and effort? According to the results and insights from the IDC Infobrief “The Next Steps in Digital Transformation:  How Small and Midsize Companies Are Applying Technology to Meet Their Business Goals,” firms worldwide are answering that question with a resounding “Yes!”

More than 80% of surveyed executives worldwide believe that implementing and adopting digital is either easier than they thought or required the same level of effort and budget that they initially expected. However, it would be a mistake to think that this lack of implementation pain and surprise yielded lackluster outcomes – over 70% (or in some cases, as high as 86%) of small and midsize businesses meet or exceed their expectation with their digital technology investments.
