Ian Ryan leads the SAP Institute for Digital Government. He is responsible for building and fostering relationships with government, academia, and industry while focusing on thought leadership around key themes such as data-driven government, future cities, Industry 4.0, and citizen well-being. With an industry background in operations and originally joining SAP in 1994, Ian has worked on a variety of strategic consulting and innovation engagements across Asia-Pacific Japan, Europe, and the Americas, with a focus on sustained operational improvement. Most recently, Ian is a regular contributor to policy-making programs, representing SAP on the Australian Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 Taskforce and supporting the Australia and New Zealand innovation program, and the Asia-Pacific Nation-Building initiative. Ian has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Trinity University Dublin and a Master of Business from the University of Rochester.
